Healthy relationships involve trust. This means you believe that your partner will not cheat on you or lie to you. It also includes trusting that they will support your goals and dreams and will respect your individuality. However, this interdependence must be mutual or negativity can brew in the relationship.
Intimacy can include sex but it doesn’t always have to. It can include other activities like snuggling and talking. It can also include supporting each other’s hobbies and interests. Being in a relationship can also be a great motivator to try new things together. For example, you could try watching one movie a week or having your own couple book club. It’s important to still have some time for yourself, however, such as going to a girls night out or playing poker with your friends. This will keep your relationship from feeling stale. You can also take a trip once in awhile to refresh your perspective.
